Into day 1, 41 days to go

Here we all go then folks, day one of the summer hols. My eldest is already in her room for some chill out time and i'd love a glass of nicely chilled wine lol.

Don't get me wrong, I do love my children and would never let them come into harm or trouble but quite frankly, I do not look forward to the summer hols.

I suppose if I had a car everyday (hubby uses it for work) and loads of cash so we could get out the house it wouldn't be so bad, before anyone says it I know there are lots of free things to do in and out the house, we do them all already.

Anyone else feel like me or am I the only bad mum out here? lol

oh you're definitely not alone with the needing to get out of the house - I do have the car at my disposal thankfully, but if for any reason we've not been out the house over one weekend I'm going stir crazy, and thats only 2 days!

OMG I love being at home with the children and they do too. Im not saying everyday is like the waltons and we do have our differences but on the whole we all enjoy the time we spend with eachother.
I think too many women spend far too much time on internet forums than with their children and then they loose the way to interact with their youngsters.
Days out need not be at a great cost either and children will only want want want if you continue to give give give.

We have lots of things to do round here thankfully, and lots of them are free! We haven't been out today yet though :o They have played on the computer, done skipping in the garden, played with their baby sister (in the case of DD1) had a look through the argos catalogue so she gets a birthday present she will actually use :rotfl:

We have had the odd moment where they have been shouting at each other and have been told off, but they have holiday club tomorrow which is a church run thing for 2 hours and will give me some space.

My post count is huge... but the children do get plenty of interaction, and remember many women also spend far too much time cleaning and not enough time with their children.

I don't fit in either box, my computer is unreliable and my house is a mess :rotfl:

I have been a member of this site since 2004 and dont come on here very often as I am spending time with the children and getting on with it all rather than bleating over a forum.
My reason for being here now is I am doing some paperwork for my business (maths lesson for the kids ;) ) and have just been nosing the small business threads

Now you know how us teachers feel on day 1 of the school term, lol. Only joking with you. This is my last summer off carefree. Next Jan I am due to have twins so life is going to be about how many balls I can juggle at once after that.

My brother has somehow persuaded me and dh that it will do us good to get in some practice having a kid around the house. So my nephew is coming to stay while they clear off for a romantic (dirty) long weekend.

He is 9 so we are planning on taking him swimming, might catch the new 'cars' movie at the cinema. Dh and I love the original of that movie but would feel like right twits going along together to a kids movie. We are chuffed we have an excuse in our nephew to go along now. Lots of bike rides and might just squeeze in a trip to the beach.

this is my first summer holiday with dd since shes just done reception, and Ive been looking forward to it. fab, I thought loads of time to do all the stuff with her I never get chance to. I also have an 18month old son and work part time but am only working 1 or 2 days a week over the summer. We're going away at the weekend for 2 weeks so I said this morning that we just needed to pop into town for some bits and to the post office to collect a parcel. THEN I remembered how hard it is when Im on my own with two and how much longer it takes!! yikes, a horrific time in town and when we got back I was so worn out that while the baby slept, instead of doing something with dd we crashed infront of a dvd. oooops! (and I even watched some of it with my eyes closed and soft snores...). Lesson learnt on day 1 - Im obviously not going to be able to have her tag along with me doing my jobs etc, and better quickly work out some kid fun stuff to do!!

currently they are upstairs since shes decided its time the baby got up to play with her and I think shes in his cot from the bouncing I can hear! wonder if they'd like to help me make spaghetti bolognaise in a min....

Good for you, we won't keep you any longer then with all our nonsense 'bleating', wouldn't want to keep you away from the children.

Glad you don't teach my kids maths, come on, number of posts divided by number of months on the site and the average is...I'd say 2/3 is quite a bit actually. We can all see when people make posts so don't tell porkies saying you don't come on often.
