Hi,
I live and work in the Middle East, however I am a UK national.
I would like to open an online share dealing account, however, I am unable to do so using UK based banks as I am not resident in the UK.
My bank in the Middle East does not offer online share dealing accounts. - This would not be my preferred option anyway.
Are there companies that offer online share dealing accounts to Expats based outside of the UK (offshore)?
Many thanks!
Luke

Yes, TD Waterhouse will open accounts for Expats in many countries, also Internaxx which is owned by TDW and I think BNP Paribas cater for Expats too but are a little more expensive to trade when dealing individual shares.
Unfortunately neither company are as cheap as Alliance Trust Savings, Best Invest Select, Cofunds, HL and the other mainland brokers but us Expats don't seem to get the best deals in personal finance.
Don't bother with Barclays Wealth, Lloyds, HSBC etc unless you don't mind getting stung by high annual charges and sometimes initial charges too.0 -
One other account you could look at is Interactive Brokers who are a US Company but have a London office, Hong Kong office and maybe more. They are quite cheap for holding UK shares but as far as I know they may not do unit trusts, OEICS etc.
I seem to recall they have very low dealing charges but then you have the currency exchange spreads to deal with.0
