DAB Clock Radio...help?

I've spent £40 on a DAB clock radio and it has the usual wire antenna but i'm struggling to pick up most stations although my normal DAB radio with the metal aerial works fine.
Does the wire antenna make a difference in the case of DAB?
Can anyone recommend a DAB clock radio that has a metal aerial?
Thanks in advance

I recommend any PURE make if you're having problems with DAB reception. I've had an Alba, and an ASDA brand DAB radio, and had problems with reception. I ditched them, and bought a PURE One, and a PURE Evoke. No problems with reception any more...Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0

Thanks for that, I did look at the Pure ones before I bought this one but slightly out of the budget I had to spend on one at the time.
I've actually managed to extend my wire antenna with an old one I had from an unused stereo and it seems to have increased the number of channels I can receive now including the one I particularly listen too :j Seems the wire just wasn't long enough for the job........always the case
But thank you!I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel
