Rip off at Spurs

This is an old complaint now, but I have just joined so I thought I'd mention it. Earlier this year I tried to buy tickets for a Tottenham Champions League home tie. I spend nearly an hour on two phones, going from the main switchboard to the ticket line which was always too busy to take my call and invited me to call back later. I didn't get tickets, and afterwards it struck me that not only had I had to pay for these phone calls, the phone number was one of those premium numbers where the company you are calling gets a % of the cost of the call. So I had to pay Spurs for not selling me a ticket! We are probably talking about £6 in all, so not a fortune, but a flipping cheek imo. If they had dedicated ticket line that you rang and got an engaged signal you wouldn't pay anything. But this way you do. Just another way that these clubs rip off their loyal supporters.

Do you have (or rather did you have) internet access? If so, why not use the spurs website to buy tickets - you queue on that in much the same way as you queue on the phone....except it doesnt' cost you per minute!
If that wasn't an option for you then fair enough...0 -
Yeah I was on the internet as well. Despite being there right from the off I had a place in the queue and judging by the progress bar I didn't even get close. What added insult to injury was I opened up a new window and found that all tickets had sold out, but there was nothing on the switchboard telling me that so I had been spending money trying to buy something that was no longer even avaiilable!0

Lucky you're not a QPR fan, going on what I've read about their ENORMOUS price hikes.
Oh, and their wilful breaching of Premier League kit regulations.

hmmm - that makes grim reading. Football clubs are an absolute disgrace the way they exploit the unique relationship they have with their customers.0

i have dumped the prem/football league , i just go to my local blue square south club , £11.00 entry , i can stand or sit, and be home in 20 mins , also can use the club bar , ect much cheaper than the mass poured beer at prem clubs . if you like your football try it how far would £20.00 go at spurs , chelsea, arsenal man utd /city , liverpool it would not even get you entry , BSS games entry drink and still have change.0

i think the real problem here is you were buying spurs tickets and secondly you admited it :eekReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

What's also annoying / ripoff is having to pay extra on your membership to be on the season ticket waiting list:eek: (only 4258 to go).0
