How do you shut the (banks etc) callees up?

I got extremely annoyed with a marketing company that called about 20 times in the week running up to Christmas. I gave them my best oh-so-polite sarcasm and I haven't had a call since. I don't know whether it would work with someone you actually owe, but I said along the lines of, "You have now called me about 20 times this week. Whenever I see your number I ignore you. I don't intend to buy anything from you, I am REALLY not interested in talking to you, so I would be Reeeeallly grateful if you would just remove my name from your list, because you're wasting BOTH our time"

That did the trick...nothing since!

This thread remebers me of the harrasment I used to get. I rang BT even though my calls are currrently through talk talk and put the chose to refuse service on my line (free for first month can cancel at any time) which enables you to block any phone number up to a max of around 10
Bliss if they keep using the same number to ring out on
I highly recommend it
