but when i get my mobile they never leave a message on it and its really starting to grate. i think thats mbna as i've heard they've been told not to leave messages!
How do i dingy these people, i'm not avoiding sorting it son't get me wrong but it's really peeing me off when they call esp on xmas eve late on so it was.
I'm now getting at least 20+ private number calls a day. i've set the phone so it doesnt ring but it mad annoying.... oh a missed call........... oh no number! and no voicemail! (which is constantly on for emergencies!)
How do we get rid without changing our number or do we have to put up with this useless intrusion!

not sure what you can do but when virgin called us the other day about our now paid up cc for the 6th time in one day my husband answered 'i don't speak english now !!!!!! off!' made me laugh anyway!
hope you get it sorted makes you feel harrassed doesn't it?0 -
What works for some does not work for others.
You can either answer each call and state I have noted these details for my complaint of harrassment to the OFT. Hang up and make a note of who called etc. You WILL need this for your complaint. With missed calls, you have no idea who is calling therefore you do not know who to complain about.
Some find this works. Some take it as far as a complaint to the OFT about each company and the calls stop. In my case neither worked, so I changed landline and mobile number. I do not give them out and only pass them to those family/friends I like/trust! At least when the phone rings I know its for me!
Sorry - but only a few options. Either take it, or fight back realising that number changing may be your last resort.0 -
I have read you can instruct them that all contact must be made in writting by letter.0

Are you sure that is the correct spelling :rotfl:0 -
Tell your phone provider that you are gettin pestered with unwanted calls, and ask them to change your number.
Other than that, when they phone, just say that you require ALL communications in writing and hang up.
They will soon get bored.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

If you get missed calls with number withheld - ask your phone provider to block your line to "anonymous" calls. This will stop most calls from contact centres as they usually go through a central switch board. Caller gets a message that the number called does not accept withheld numbers and they will then be forced to write to you
I've done this myself and it drastically cut down number of calls I was getting.
For everyone else - advise them only to contact you in writing and that any future calls regarding the subject will be reported to the police as harrassment.Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds Live is AWESOME!!2009 Sealed Pot Challenge Banked £100Comp wins: Shearer Candles (£43)Depressed, dieting, binge-eater with gastric bypass. Best thing we did was change our number. Its been absolute bliss for 9 months now.0

I used the same tactic - changed the landline number (Fantastic - peace at last) and I don't answer any calls from numbers not recognised on my Mobi.
Keep in here - it does stop after a few weeks- but it does make you feel like a prisoner in your own home.
Take care - you are dealing with your debt and should be loud and proud!!
