Miss sold All inclusive Lite. HELP

Hi there I am new to this site and would like to know if anyone can HELP me.

I booked and paid for a holiday to Greece in August through Jetline Travel for 1 week All inclusive at the Filerimos Hotel for £820 and I wasnt happy about the reviews, unfortunately I did not read the reviews before hand :( so I called Jetline to change Hotels which they were happy to do at an extra cost of £116, same star hotel and all inclusive. I have later found out that this Hotel runs an all inclusive lite programme which I was not told about at the time. I called Jetline Travel to say that this is an all inclusive lite board basis and they were adament it is not so I e-mailed the Hotel myself and to no surprise they are an all inclusive lite hotel. I rang jetline again and I e-mailed them the proof from the hotel and they said they would contact there supplier (Holiday Brokers) they called me back to say that there is nothing they can do that it is only a minor difference from all inclusive. At this point I am fuming so I contact holiday brokers myself and they state that is an all inclusive hotel aswell NOT an all inclsive lite, they looked in to this for me and they came back to me to say YES it is an all inclusive lite, leave it with them and they'll look in to it for me, I am still waiting on a phone call as I write this. I have had my confirmation through and all its says is AI. I would like to know do I have a leg to stand on and where do I go if dont get anywhere with these people i'm so worried i've been ripped off and there's nothing I can do. :(

    Hi,

What you haven't explained very well is what the difference between AI lite & AI where you are staying - what did you think AI meant?

Do you have any paperwork explaining exactly what you get as part of the AI?

Do we know exactly what we are getting on an AI holiday?

    Hi,

I've not done many AI holidays - but normally there is somewhere in t&cs or similar that explains exactly what AI means for your holiday - for example what might be meant by AI lite is that you don't get the premium drinks - just the local beer & wine - the t&cs would tell you this.

So for me I would be asking Jetline exactly what they mean by AI & get this in writing!!

Then if you don't get this - then you have something to complain about.

I think you have very little chance of getting anything back, you booked before checking the reviews and then changed, admittedly at your own expense, without finding out what 'all inclusive' meant. It means different things in different hotels and in different countries, if you didn't ask, with the deepest respect you shouldn't have made any assumptions. Jetline do not sell packages but bits of them stuck together with different suppliers, so the Package Travel Regulations which might have helped you will not apply. Price is usually a good indication of what you are likely to get but I don't see any misrepresentation here, unless they lied to you before you booked.

AI Lite normally means drinks are included with meals, but not at other times.

or it could mean that only the local beers/wines are included - will be difficult to know until the OP comes back.

Most AI's state that only local spirits are included and they are not listed as "lite". Some state that premium brands are available at a supplement.

However as you say, hard to know until the OP comes back.

I know it's of no help to trelly1983, but with so much information available on the web these days, it really is worthwhile looking at hotel reviews before you book ........

And if you choose not to, do not look at reviews after you have booked ....
