I don't have much time, so can't read through the thread just yet, but here is a very useful website (if no one has posted it yet). I can't post the link as I'm new, but if you do a search for "cheap family recipes" it should come up.

This has been set up by some of the Old Stylers who have tested out the recipes and even if you don't follow the meal plans, it has some very cheap meals on there that are nutritionally balanced.

hi yes we live in south yorkshire and there are quite a few farmshops nearby i will have to check them out.:beer:
The nearest market is in town and i never go in town cause i really hate it and it always costs me for parking or the bus which is nearly £5 return.:eek:
I ve got the yellow sticker thing sussed now went to tesco the other day and got milk roll 20p, nimble loaf29p, warboutons in the paper packet 34p got 3 loafs of each now in my freezer.:D
My kids are 7 and 4 and they have breakfast which is cereal, luuch they have pack up at school never been poor enough for free school meals? supposedly, they have a hot/ big dinner every day and supper which is usually milk and crackers or digestive biscuits what granny buys.

Your pasta dish sounds lovely but would not pay £8.95 for it i would be like get back in that kitchen and cook me summat for a quid boy. Really jamie oliver should be able to do that. I challenge YOU jamie oliver to do a feed your family of 4 for a quid:cool:
