Damp in kitchen wall

Options
Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on this. I noticed damp on one of my external walls of my kitchen extension - I knew the downpipe was blocked so I had it fixed along with a broken concrete roof tile. I thought this would sort the problem and obviously, I gave it a chance to dry out but the other day, I noticed there is still damp.

When I looked at the guttering outside, the downpipe was completely clear but the fascia is completely rotten, just being held together by the paint covering it, I think! Is it likely that this is the main cause? I'm going to have to have it replaced anyway but don't want to have it done, only to have to have it removed because the problem is more deep seated.

I'd really appreciate some help if anyone has experience of this.

Thanks,

Linzi
