Evening
We are buying a property (1968) that is LEASEHOLD. £9 per year! on a 999 year lease
I know that i have a right to buy it but is it worth the expense?
I understand that i have to pay the people that own it's legal expenses.
Has anyoe any idea of what it might cost warts and all:eek:
thanks JIM

999 year lease! Definitely not worth buying in my opinion.0

I wouldn't bother either at the price you're paying. Your own legal fees will be a couple of hundred at least!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

A lot depends on where it is, the type of lease, the freeholder etc. For example, sometimes you get the right to enfranchise (buy out the freehold) and sometimes you don't.
There's a big difference between a leasehold house in, say, Letchworth, and a leasehold flat in London. Or, indded, between different leasehold flats in London0 -
Oh my God... Leasehold!!! be so careful, we were raped by corrupt managing agents.
Just google David glass associates and if you still can't be bothered, good luck to you!0
