just some brief info we built a house which everything went wrong on.

anyway we employed a company to supply and fit a 6m large external 3 pane glass sliding door, each glass pane is about 2m x 2.1m

the door was about £6000, we had to pay £3000+ on order then another instalment just priior to fitting and the balance app £900 on completion of the job

the company didnt turn up when we were told they would and it caused propblems with other trades on the job.

when they did arrive they backed into my husbands van

then they dropped one of the 3 sections of glass installing it

we had a hole where the pane should have been for about a week and after several complaints by me they came back and borded up.

whilst we were waiting for the new pane the frame leaked so had to get them back for that.

they didnt provide the chrome handles that we asked for at order and said we had to have black as thats all they do for this type of door.

the keys in the door all went rusty but they have done nothing about that.

in the original quote they gave us there was a charge of about £400-500 for what they call a pressing basically its aluminium sprayed to match the doors to go over the steel gerders that for the frame of the door.

they brought it to site and left it for weeks and never fitted it, i got all sorts of excuses and in the end they said they couldnt fit.

so we were in dispute with them and as such i withheld the last instalment of the account £900 i told them i would have to get someone else to fit it.

i got the company who supplied all our windows (they didnt do the door we wanted) to fit this pressing at new year

they were happy to help as we had spent about £20,000+ with them but the other company dont know we got it done for free

NOW to the crooks of all this the £900 has never been paid as that includes the £400-500 fee for the supply and fit of the pressing

tonight we have just seen that one of the glass panes in this door has failed its got condensation between the glass:(

where to i stand consumer wise can i get the glass replaced

will i have to settle the outstanding fee firstwe would have to argue over whats to be knocked off i think

any help and advice please
