L plates

Just a quick question. Apart from driving instructors cars, is it ok to leave L plates on when the learner isnt in the car or is there any law against it? No real reason just wondering;)

depends whether she was actually learning to drive whilst towing a trailer or whether she had the L plates on to inform other people that she wasn't used to towing a trailer and was 'learning'
