NEW `reconditioned`engine n turbo- BLOWN!!!

Options
Hi there

Just last week I had a new (well, "reconditioned") engine and turbo fitted to my mitsubishi Delica at the cost of £1500. Just yesterday, driving along, the turbo blew. So the AA and the firebrigade that also turned up tell me.
There is a 6 month warranty, but the problem is the garage is in Barking I am in Swindon. The AA refuse to move it for me (another drama in itself) so before I phone the garage tomorrow, I wanted to know what my rights are as to the cost of towing it to Barking.
Surely the garage should pick up the cost? I am absolutely cleaned out from getting the engine as it is.
Could I get the towing company to invoice the garage?

(it was extremely scarey when it blew, so much smoke you couldnt see your hand, the emergency services were called as a witness thought the van was on fire and the kids and I were trapped inside!) So the actual danger we were put in to me, surely should stand for something? Plus, of course, I have the awful feeling I was majorly 'done over' in the first place ...:(

Many thanks

£1500 if way too cheap to be able to recondition an engine and a turbo. I presume they
    fitted a 2nd hand unit.

You could try and get a company to invoice the garage but i doubt they will. Too risky for them to
    try and claim their fees.

See if the garage can collect it, If not then you may need to arrange it yourself and maybe resort
to the small claims to recoup your losses.

One of the pitfalls of not getting someone local to repair it.

The danger you were put in wont make any difference, Anything could have happened but it didn't.

Done over, Quite possibly. But on the other hand it maybe a small problem that appears to be worse than it is.

Last year i lost power on the motorway, Pulled into the services to check, Oil and water all fine etc but
when i revved it their was a very bad rattle from down below.
I decided to push onto my destination at reduced power and speed, Got their OK and checked the car.
A rubber pipe had come off the turbo and the metal clip was rattling up and down the the metal pipe.

    Fixed for free.
