28 inch TV in Asda - £100

Just a bog standard telly, cant remember the make, Baeur or something like that. £100 in Irvine store today, plenty of them on the shelves.

A good price if your just looking for a basic tv and cant afford a top of the range lcd model.

I expect it only has one scart at the back, but could you confirm please? I'm looking for a cheap one for my mum with 2 scarts so that she can watch Freeview and record analogue (or visa versa).

surely you only need one scart for this then? scart the freeview box and coax the VCR?
This is not an automated signature. I write this at the bottom of every message
  • Asda are also selling 20" TV's for £60

I looked at the 28" TVs the other day and they have 2 scart sockets. They also had a cylinder vac for £10 but it was only 900W or something like that, not bad as a cheap replacement if your vac has just blown up though.
  • Were the 28 inch tellys widescreen, and did they have a stand?

Do VCRs still output anything over coax, and it not just an RF Loop.

Seems cheaper TVs and VCRs and the like only ever have 1 scart, and never output anything over coax. So take, say, a chaper TV, DVD Recorder, VCR and Freeview box, and you wont be able to connect them (and probably all the same brand).
  • Cheers for this. Picked one up earlier to replace my previous 28" that went over Christmas.

It's not widescreen, has no stand, but does have 2 scart sockets.

It's perfect for having for a year or so as prices of LCD's are gonna come down alot so this will do nicely in the meantime.

could you tell me whether this tv has

    freeview?

    1080i resolution?

has it got a gaming mode?

    has it got a subwoofer?

can it tell me my future?

can it help with my wifes moods? if it cant can it help mine?

    hdmi input?

    dvi input?

    how wide is it?

is it made of bio degradeable material?

how much electricity does it use if you leave the red standby light on?

is it made in an ethical country?

do the people who make it earn a fair wage?

can I pay Asda in 1p's for it?

    do Asda accept luncheon vouchers?

is it on the website if not why not I dont see why I should have to actually get on my feet and actually visit Asda to look at it?

    can it fly?

I'd thought I'd ask these questions before anyone else did after all the tv is £100 so I would like it to be top spec!
