ferry foot passengers

i have been trying on the net to book a day return as foot passengers on the dover-calais ferry but getting nowhere its only car deals.

unable to phone po or seafrance as 0871 premium numbers are blocked. tried say no to 0870 web but that comes up nothing found.

anyone know if you can still get these tickets, last time we did this was over 20 years ago and they were only about a £1 each

I've just checked the P&O website, and you can book as foot passengers online. When you get to the last box, where you have 'car' in the box, there is a drop down menu showing 'no car' as an option.

I regularly travel with school parties as foot passengers - last time was in March, so it's still possible.

There's a shuttle bus outside the ferry terminal, which goes into Calais town, stopping in the centre, as well as at the train station, so easy to get into town. Costs about 5 euros I think.

Make sure you get to Dover in plenty of time, as last time we missed the shuttle bus from the terminal to the ferry by about two minutes, and they had to find another bus to take us down.

yep, as the above poster has said you can definetely travel as foot passengers with po ferries, but not seafrance as they don't take foot passengers. Its on the drop down menu on the top of screen and you select no car. I won't bother adding as the above poster has already covered the fact there is a bus from the port to Calais town centre. It's quite easy to do so, I've done it as a foot passenger a few times :)

On the ferry they do tell foot passengers not to do so don't they, they tell car drivers (can't remember for the life of me what they say now) and their passengers to return to their vehicle whilst foot passengers go aft and wait there). We take our vehicle now, and like you I always use the toilet before I leave the ferry.

Although I remember one time before I knew much about what I was doing, I didn't know what aft was, so I asked, and above the tannoy they put a lovely sarky message on :rotfl: Ta, P0.

You need to bear in mind that foot passengers can only travel between about 7am to 7pm (details on website).

aye because the ferry operator needs to provide buses from the ferry itself to the terminal and the walkways (coming of the ferry, not sure what they are called)
