First Choice/Trip Advisor

Options
After a little bit of advice. We have booked next years holiday to Egypt, booking the holiday based on price and the trip advisor comments left for the hotel on the First Choice website.

However, looking at the comments more closely they are for a completely different hotel! I booked the holiday on the interenet. I have subsequently rung them to tell them that I wish to cancel/amend by booking but they advise that I would either have to forego the deposit I paid or pay 35.00 pp to amend the booking. Surely if their website is giving misleading information, I shouldn't have to pay anything?

Thoughts/recommendations please.
Thank you Angie

Are you going to be changing to the hotel that they linked the reviews to? (instead of the one you thought it was?)

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Could do - but I don't think that First Choice have that hotel on their books :/
  • Steigenberger Al Dau Club. Reviews are for Al Dau Beach.............! x

Actually, that's REALLY mis-leading! The page clearly states Al Dau Club, with glowing trip advisor reviews, yet if you click on the reviews to go to Tripadvisor, it then becomes apparent that the reviews are for Al Dau Beach.

Al Dau Club seems to have quite a mix of reviews.

I would definitely complain to Firstchoice, and ask to change your holiday free of any charges, although if you want a more expensive hotel, you should have to pay for this.
