Hi I have a cold fill AEG washing machine.
Less than 2 yrs old ( 5yr warranty deal fronm John Lewis)
Always seem to be cold.. can't feel any heat thro' glass.
Suggested it was the way they work- but gets smelly- put on a 90% wash today, stopped half way thro- still cold.
Is this the way they work these days or should I call them in?

Sounds like the heater element has gone.
Have a look at your electricity meter at the beginning of the wash cycle, it should be spinning up a storm. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
You would definately be able to feel the heat through the glass on a 90 degree wash. I'd dig my warranty out and give them a ring. Don't sound vague about whether it's broken or not, be decisive in how you speak with them - 'The element has gone and the washer is no longer heating the water'.

It's quite OK. The latest "eco green energy saving machines" are so efficient that the water doesn't actually get hot so you don't waste energy when the water is pumped down the drain................

?????????????????????
Not sure if you're post is meant to be tongue in cheek? If the cycle is 90 degree, then the water should be heated to 90 degrees regardless of how 'energy saving' the machine is.

yeah, I read this, and makes me wonder if its really is ok.. washing seems clean, but smelly sludge around seal makes me think its not getting hot enough, and I've stopped at various points during cycle and still seems cold. Think I'll call them in.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
