driving wrong way down one way road

Hello all

On friday after I finished work I had a flat battery so instead of turning right out of our work car park I turned left the wrong way to bump start the car down the hill (nothing was coming)

After the 10 metres I had bump started the car and was turning right onto a side road when a police van shot passed me with blues and two's on he didn't stop me but I am wondering if I hear anything from the police will I get points and a fine ?

Thanks

if he didn't stop and there's no camera then its unlikely you'll hear anything about it.

He didn't stop as he was on the way to an emergency

Hopefully if I do hear anything I'll have a chance to explain my situation

    Thanks for the reply

It happens all the time, sometimes it's unavoidable, the Police are unlikely to bother unless you were travelling at speed and/or caused an accident.
Around here we have a very large Polish community and they are regular one way offenders. Like the rest of us they don't see the point in driving 2 miles out of their way just to get to somewhere 50 yards back down a one way road. But unlike the rest of us, they just make a dash for it. Different mentality and social background.

I also now have a picture showing the sign to be partially approx 30% obscurred by a tree taken this morning just in case.

    Photogenic
I think they were just waiting for you to start this thread to make sure they had enough evidence to get you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or they were not bothered in the least as they were not traffic and had better things to do.
They probably called you a daftie or worse as they went past; were your ears not burning?

LOL they will be burning if I get 3 points and a fine when my missus gives me clip around the ear.

Seriously though I have a clean driving licence and never speed it would be just my luck to get done the one time I did something wrong :D

I remember reading that a lot of traffic offences were now 'policed' by the local authority and not the Police. Unless what you were doing was an obvious immediate danger then they might just not bother, or at most give a small lecture.

You'll have fun explaining what happened with a picture of an obscured sign when it's outside your works car park, as you'll already know it's one way.

but it's highly unlikely you'll hear anything
