Electric immersion heater vs rayburn
I have a Rayburn gas fired cooker/boiler, which I only use for central heating and domestic water heating, not cooking.
I run it during summer, for water heating only, and it operates 24/7.
If I were to turn off the Rayburn and use the electric immersion heater instead for, say 2 hours per day, would it work out cheaper?

Depends on the size of the hot water cylinder / insulation loss kWh% over time / and how much per kW you pay to your supplier. Most immersion heaters are 3kW so :
- 2 hours @ 3kWh is 6kW per day
- at whatever pr£ce per kW you payDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
