Change of address on Ebay help

Hey all

My Ebay account is currently registered at my parents address (where I used to live). So is my Paypal account. But my bank account is registered to my current rented address.

I live in a rented flat and am due to move to another rented flat in 2 weeks time.

I want to buy a chest of drawers from Ebay and have it delivered to my new address (to save me lugging it 7 flights of stairs!).

I will change all addresses over to new flat eventually but just wondered how long does it take for Ebay to update new address? Is it instant?

Will it matter that my Paypal account (that I'll pay from) is not registered to new address? If so how long does it take to update? And to do this does my bank account need to be registered to that address?

If you are intending to use paypal then all you need to do is make sure the paypal address is the one that is correct. You can add the current address to paypal easily but remember to choose it when you pay. If the addresses don't match it wouldn't hurt to email the seller and let them know which is the address to use, I would not have suggested that in the past as I thought everyone used the paypal address, but reading some recent threads I am not so sure.

Thanks for the reply soolin. i have just looked at Paypal to change address but i won't be able to verify the new address as my credit card is not registered there yet and there is no landline at the property to verify by phone. Therefore I won't have a confirmed Paypal address so I would assume that the seller (an ebay business) would not want to post item to a non confirmed address?

I have several postal addresses on paypal (home, work, parents, friend...) and just choose which one I want things posted to using the change address tab. I have never had a seller querying any of them as not confirmed (and only one of them is associated with my bank account). I have had a couple of new sellers send to one address when I had asked for a different one through not reading the request properly so now add a note with purchases from small sellers.
