I have a faulty Brabantia bin (lid)

It has a 10 year guarantee. We bought it a year ago.

Problem is I can't find receipt. Would I still be entitled to a free replacement or repair? The Brabantia website says that proof of purchase is needed.

Thanks

Did you buy it with a card, a company like them would probably take an entry on a bank/cc statement as proof of purchase.

Give them a ring anyway, their custome service is ususally pretty good.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Thanks, yes, we would have bought it on a card I'm sure. I'll go back through bank statements and have a look.

Is it a stainless steel bin with a black, obliqued lid that opens softly if you push on the depressed space at the edge? If so, does it fail to open when you push it? If that is the case, call Brabantia and they will send you a new clip. All you have to do is remove the old clip and push fit the new one, it tales seconds to do. Brabantia are aware the clip does not last long and might send you a spare as well. There is no argument or dispute, just tell them what the issue is and they will respond. It costs them less money to do that, than to sit there arguing with someone about a receipt from nine and a half years ago. ;)
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

My friend got a Brabantia through freecycle and had a problem with it. She rang them to ask if she could purchase a replacement lid, said she'd got it 2nd hand and had no receipt but they sorted it out for her free of charge anyway. I've heard nothing but good things about their customer service

Totally agree with the above - we had our Brabantia bin for 4 yrs - the lid broke - found their telephone number on the web and gave 'em a call!

Their customer service was excellent - they sent me some pre-paid postage labels, asked me to package up the lid and send it to them. A week later the new lid arrived - no hassle - i didn't even have to prove purchase etc. Fab service

All free of charge too which is the kind of service i like!!!

And the small 'pushtop' Brabantia bin is astonishingly good too.

(Ours actually sits there, seemingly unobtrusively, on the bathroom worktop and its chrome finish seems to go perfectly with the plumbing)
