Never again!!!
Went last week to Next, Ilford Branch. When I came out I could have done with a lie down and a couple of headache tablets. It was pandemonium. The shop was heaving with families with buggies and double buggies, so everytime you turned round you nearly tripped over a buggy. Families were gathering inbetween the racks of clothing just standing around talking so I kept having to say excuse me when I wanted to get to something, and then was looked at as if I was disturbing them. Go to a coffee shop if you just want to just chat! The noise was incredible with screaming children running around the shop. The fact there was a sale on was no excuse because no other store in the town was like this. When I found some things to try on I had to wait 20 minutes for a changing room. When I got to the front I looked inside the changing rooms to see what was going on and most of them were closed with racks lying around everywhere. Another 20 minutes in a queue to pay for it, two people on the till, one doing a refund. When the shirt was rung up it was full price and not in the sale. I bought it as I just couln't bear the thought of wasting an hour of my life in that place for nothing. Checked on the rack where I got it from and it was identical with the exception of some detail on the pockets to the ones on sale, which is probably why it was put there. I was informed that the Beckton store had banned buggies from its store, but I just can't understand why with all the sales going on Next attracts this type of chaos. I am sending them an email to tell them about the awful shopping experience. It will be a long time, if ever, before I go back into that branch again.

It's gets like that when the sales on. It' not a very big store so get busy very quickly.Come on you Irons0

I think the next sale brings out the worst in people. does sound like you had a tough time there I hate it when people have mothers meetings in shops!0

The Next sale does bring out the worst in people. It's too much like a jumble sale for me so I don't bother. Also, I know they buy in loads of tat just so they can flog it as clearance. I don't think the quality of clothes is that good anymore - always seem quite rough and badly made to me.
There was a big thread on Grabbit about the Next sale. Seems like a bit of a fuss over who got VIP invites to it and some people ordering mountains of stuff saying 'Well I will just return it if I don't like it, that's what the returns dept are for' or 'I'll just ebay what I don't keep'.0 -
Next seems to be like that all year round. They're one of the best ads for internet shopping going.0

I don't understand why you have emailed them to be honest, what have you complained about the store being to busy? Surely thats the point of a sale to clear the stock as fast as possible, reduced price stock isn't going to be making anywhere near as much profit than full price so it makes sense to sell it as fast a possible, as for buggies so what if there was plenty in the store, parents are entitled to shop too next isn't exclusive to adults without small children, how are they going to clear the childrens section if parents can't get in the store?0

Forwandert, I emailed them because no other store is ever like this. It was unpleasant on all fronts, except for the staff. I have not complained about the store being 'busy' as such, but busy with people who have no intention of looking at anything in the shop and are just standing around chatting in large groups, and letting their children run around the store as if it is a playground, while their buggies are blocking the floor. I do not see this in other stores to such a degree. I am entitled to voice my opinions, as we all are.
And yes, I do shop on the internet, sometimes...0 -

You may be entitled to your opinion, but sending them an email because the store was too busy for you is rather....well, pathetic isn't it.
Don't like it, don't go when they have a sale?!! Or shop somewhere else, it's not a difficult solution.0
