HSBC loan, more than 6 yrs ago

Hi
I had a 10k loan with HSBC beginning in 1998 and ending in 2003. I know this is over the 6 year limit, but has anyone had any luck with HSBC claims over 6 yrs old?
I had very good sickness benefits as I worked for the Fire Service. They told me that it was very important to get the PPI in case I lost my job or was off sick for a long time. I was only 20 at the time, so didn't really have a clue.
Any help would be much appreciated x

And you agreed and signed up for it, why would you think that it has been mis sold, they were telling the truth, if you had mortgage to pay etc etc, it was a good idea.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi there, people have claimed mis sell on loans from the 90s,me included.
If you have the account number then look here for reasons for mis sell
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.
If you dont have the account number give the bank a ring and see if they can help with this,or look on your bank statements if you bank online.
If you still have not found it,then write to the bank and ask for all information they hold on you, give as many details as you can address, dob etc and enclose a £10 cheque or postal order.
You have a very good reason for mis sell as you get paid sick pay,and the ppi would only cover you for 12 months anyway,i assume you have life insurance too,and do you have a death in service benefit?.
These are all reasons that you had no need for the ppi.
We won all ppi back from loans because my hubby had all of the above and had no need for extra insurance.
Let me know how you get on.0 -
Just to update on this, I've had a letter offering me £4625 today! Was jumping around the kitchen! Thanks so much for the advice and encouragement, I'd urge anyone considering reclaiming to have a go xI am Doll Parts
