BEKO broke my fridge and refuse to re-compensate me

but both? You know, a part of me wants to leave it but I won't. This is nuts. They said that as the stuff in the fridge has a short shelf-life it isn't covered..... When my fridge was repaired it cost a fortune in re-filling it with everything. I think we spent £150 in 1 go just to re-stock (there is only 2 of us, but we eat a lot of meat and we don't necessarily buy cheap. Why am I even justifying the contents of my fridge!)
Anyway, I'll wait for their letter to come in then I will start proceedings. Do I split the claim? Or do I put both on with the total at my itemised costs?
Kind regards Cookies and Crem.
Yes, you need to submit the claim as an alternative claim.
So you plead it against Beko in respect of their negligent repair. And further, or in the alternative, against Comet in respect of their breach of contract.
PM me if you need a hand...0 -
Many thanks to all who helped.
This mornings post has bought a £100 cheque from Beko and £44 from Beko. Both of whom stated in their letters that I should get contents insurance to cover fridge contents. Damn cheek. I am so tempted to write back to point out yet again that my fridge didn't break - they broke it and further more claiming from my insurance would cost me money. In fact, Comet had the audacity to advise taking out their fridge insurance...
Anyway, I am happy with the £144 so will cash the cheques and close the dispute (I hadn't contacted the Small Claims yet).
Kind regards and thank you all so much again.
Cookies and Crem.
p.s - I do have contents insurance and I imagine I am covered for fridge contents (I do not have a basic insurance), but never would I claim off it for someone else's error. I am now off to spend my worldly cash in Tesco!0
