Hotel in Cardiff in March

Hi all,
Looking to book a hotel room in Cardiff (doesn't have to be city centre) on Fri 9th March for 2 nights.
Looking for something cheap.
Noticed that Travelodge have just released their Sept-Dec 2011 offers.
Is it better to just wait for a while and see if discounts come along?
Thanks,
AMO

Weekends in City hotels get booked up quickly in advance and if you can find a good rate now I personally would book it up. If it is not a great deal in the difference price wise from the saver rate you might also want to consider booking the hotel using the flexible rate that allows you to cancel 24 hours before and then if you find a better deal you can book that and cancel the flexible rate. Premier Inn also has a hotel in Cardiff you might want to look at booking the flexible rate at.0

I wouldn't leave it too late to book as Wales are playing their 6 nations match against Italy on saturday 10th March at the Millenium stadium, and obviously the hotels tend to get booked up around match days

Hi AMO,
The Travelodge in Cardiff Bay is great, stayed there a few times now.Its next to the red dragon centre which has lots of food places and also there is mermaid quay which is lovely with the theatre and again lots of places to eat.You also get free parking at the cardiff bay travelodge they just validate your ticket when you want to leave.
Lots of buses into cardiff city centre or you could walk in,took me about 20 minutes!
Hope this is of some help0 -
Would second Cardiff Bay as was a newish hotel with a good breakfast and beside lots of good places to eat and things to do and great bus links to City Centre. The Travelodge in the city centre looked a bit old and run down when we went past it I thought.0
