Hi,
I am planning to go for ISLE of wight with my family and couple of friends for 1 day. Can you suggest me suitable places that I can cover within 1 day (10.00 am to 5.00 pm).
I saw some offers when I book tickets with wightlink ferry on foot. Can you suggest what will be the best option for the following:
1) Booking unlimited bus travel for 1 day
2) Inclusive of steam rail travel & island train travel
3) What are the places that can be viewed in august
Thanks in advance

It'll be a bit of a rush if you try and see the Isle of Wight in one day!
It really depends on what sort of things you're interested in? If you just want to look at nice scenery then get an all day bus ticket and go round the Island. The south coast is particularly scenic - especially the south west. I don't know how much a one day ticket is, but bus travel on the Island is relatively expensive. Newport is the central hub for most buses.
The train is fun (ex London Underground trains) but will only take you from Ryde to Shanklin - but you can access the steam railway at Smallbrook if that's your sort of thing. The Island train is quite cheap but the steam train more expensive.
Or, you could hire bicycles (electric bikes, if you want, are available to hire from Ryde, near the station) but you wont see quite so much.
There are many good places to stop and eat on the way round - local crab and fish dishes are a speciality. You should be able to pick up "Where to Eat" guides on the ferry.
Other places to see might be Osborne House or Carisbrooke Castle, although visiting these will eat up most of your day. There's several zoos and wildlife parks (on a small scale) or the Botanic Gardens at Ventnor.
Far too much for a day trip really! Come for longer next time!!0 -
