Liverpool

Hi have a two night stay arranged in Liverpool for 2 adults and one child aged 9. Planning the usual sightseeing, going to the museum that's just opened and also maybe a trip to Anfield. Just wondering if there are any special deals for the Anfield tour and is worth going there? Also, how easy is it to get there by public transport from the city centre? Any other suggestions for things to do would be very much appreciated. Cheers

I'd recommend the World Museum - free, but you need to register to get tickets for the next planetarium showing when you arrive.

We did this it was great - but it was the tour guides that we had that really made it ! but other people we have spoken to have said that some of the other tour guides are good as well.

The wheel on albert dock at night was good as well.

Check out www.visitliverpool.com there are several offers including 20% off the Anfield Tour. There are a few buses leaving the City centre which stop outside Anfield. You can get more info from the Tourist Information Centre in Queens Square.

I've done the Anfield tour last year and have to admit it rivals some of the best (Camp Nou springs to mind!). Anfield is in a very deprived area though and I'm almost embarassed when people visit but it is going through a period of regeneration so hopefully things will look up in the coming years.

If you have time go on the duck tours bus, I took a friend on this who visited from South Wales and he really enjoyed it. Then theres Cavern Walks, Pier Head, Albert Dock, Beatles Museum, Slavery Museum (if this hasn't been included in the new one). Shopping is good too and plenty of places to have really nice meals. Hope you enjoy your time here :)

Duck bus is really good as a treat. I wuld also suggest going on the wheel. Liverpool One currently has its summer beach set up.

Your 9 year old would probably also enjoy adventure golf. Jungle rumble is in Liverpool One.

It is fairly easy to get a bus to Anfield but to be honest once you have paid £1.80 for each adult and 90p for a child on the bus then a taxi wouldn't be much more expensive. I always use Delta 01519247373.
Where are you staying? Liverpool One, the wheel, the new museum and the ferry are all located very near to each other.
