We are heading off to London and are going to be there for just over 24 hours
What sort of passes are available for tubes/buses and which is the cheapest option?

Try the Transport for London website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/ .
The irritating reply is, "Well, it depends" on whether you want to use buses only, buses, trains and tubes and which parts of London you're going to. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
You are probably best to get an off peak Travelcard to use on all buses and tubes. If you are staying and visiting attractions with zones 1-2 an off peak zone1-2 TC is £6.60 (off peak aft 9.30am weekdays and all day weekends). Zones are on this TFL map. Other zones more e.g. 1-3 is £7.30, 1-5 £8.
