Must have the worst customer service on record!. They were supposed to be installing today, however the engineer turned up, wandered out the back, took one look at my single storey extension and stated that he couldn't go up there (regardless of the fact that he had umpteen ladders on top of his van and the roof has been walked on by people twice his weight).

For some reason that he failed to explain to me it couldn't go out the front either, despite some of my neighbours having their dishes on the fronts of their houses. He then told me I would have to have a special installations team and that he'd get someone to call me and hurried away.

Someone phoned to arrange a new installation date, 16th March!! Considering I had arranged for Telewest to disconnect tomorrow this would leave us with no telly for 2 weeks and 3 very unhappy kids. The other half also rang them from work and they would not budge! He rang me back and asked me what I wanted him to do, I told him to tell Sky where they could stuff their services, if this was how they were going to treat us before we had even had our installation then I was having none of it. He rang and cancelled and they are supposed to be refunding my money back to my credit card within 5 days, I'll believe it when I see it personally.

I had to ring Telewest to ask them if they would cancel my disconnection and as per usual was treated with the utmost courtesy, within 5 minutes they had the disconnection cancelled and gave us 2 months free movie channels for staying with them.

So basically a huge raspberry to Sky and a big thumbs up to Telewest who have never, ever let me down.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    Hi Moggins,

Some Sky installers have a really bad attitude, I suggest you cancel your order with Sky and find a local independant installer,

I had Sky + installed using a indie, first class service and they had better Hardware too.
