New car due at dealer 25th march.
Rang on 24th to arrange collection to be told of 10 day delay, blamed recent French lorry driver strike. Now due 7th March.

Tuesday this week computer shows arrival due 7th march.
Wednesday shows delivery 23rd march.
Dealer is still saying that there computer system is usually very accurate...Ha!!

It is supposed to be on a transporter at LeHavre waiting to be put on a ferry, only problem is there are 3499 other vehicles also waiting there.

I know there is a major problem at the moment with a few containers getting through due to the strikes. nothing they can do really though. have you told them you have no car as you were sure they would have yours in, therefore you have no transport. courtesy car for you mate

If you are trading your old car in then you will have to consider your old car as your courtesy car ... if not then I agree, demand a courtesy car.

Seriously if the delivery is so delayed that you have to retax your current car for a minimum of 6 months I would expect them to pick up tab. If they won't play write to tell them that delivery time is critical to the contract. If they do not supply the vehicle withing 2 weeks you will consider them in breach of contract and you will go elsewhere.
