My new laptop came with a free 60 day trial of Norton Internet Security, but it has now expired. Shall I subscribe and pay to keep it? Or should I download a different anti-virus?

All tips appreciated, thanks! ;)

Oh, and what other security should I installing?

Thanks for the info! I decided to download NIS and found a voucher code making it £14.99 (1 year for 3 computers).

    Cheers guys :T

They say Norton slows down the system. These days I use Avira and one or two other free programmes. Plus the firefox browser. Computer runs every day and I haven't had a problem in years. Though I do practice safe browsing! :D.
I'm pretty paranoid about security but I think you can do just fine without paying for stuff.

NIS has got better these last couple of years in terms of both detection rates and less of a drain on system resources, but I still don't think it's worth paying for

I think this might have been discussed once before on this forum. Maybe it would be worth doing a search.
