Can they not just do what HSBC did for me when I turned 18?
They just opened my account up on there screen and changed a drop down from MyAccount to Bank Account with no credit searches or anything like that - the change happened overnight, after he changed it in branch.
I find it strange that an advisor in RBS can't just do this.0 -

They can (in most cases anyway). That's what I was trying to get at with my earlier post.
The problem is it can't be done on the Internet (as the OP seems to have tried to do), it will decline due to the no borrowing marker.0 -

The problem is that you are applying for a second account when you only need to amend the existing one.0

But aren't the staff there to guide customers though situations like this?
Which is why we're all saying the best thing to do is go into branch and see a member of staff!!
All you need to do is make it very clear that all you want to do is change the current account and I'm sure the adviser will get what you want done in no time at all.0 -

Put it this way, I did not manage to ever log into my Santander account!
It used to be the best. But with an introduction Of a Secure Key it became the worst0 -

Yeah seriously that Secure Key is a real sod.
I'd move to First Direct if my Experian file didn't have bloody great bankruptcy order bang in the middle of it(Discharged years ago, but still, this is FD we're talking about).
