dual credit cards?

Options
hello,

i have an old visa natwest card and a mastercard natwest card, that are called a "dual card".

the bank keeps telling me there is no difference between them, but i'm not clear on why did they issue me with two different then.no differences are highlighted in the T&Cs.

am i missing a trick here, am i better off using one over the other???

please help.

Not really, it was due to a loosening of the Visa and Mastercard regulations at the time so that a bank could be a member of both, then they issued them more as a gimmick to get people to sign up, but there was always the off chance at that time if you went abroad you could go to a Europay/Mastercard dominated country or a Visa dominated country so it also covered you in that event. These days it is mostly really irrelevant as long as it is a credit card and not a debit card as these can be declined for various reasons even when you have available funds.

Visa is generally accepted more all over the world than mastercard other than that there is no real difference.
