You said the nursery would fine you for late pick up. So presumably they do have some facilities in place for late pick ups.
How much would this fine be and would it be feasible. See if your company would fund it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

She's already said
Nursery will charge me £30 for every hour im late picking DD up. If I leave work at 5:30 I wont get there till approx 6:30 - 7pm (They wont charge me half hour - its full hour, states in the contract) so it could be up to* £60 a day
Company wont cover the expenses. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Are you sure that is what the nursery will charge?
Most have a large cost when it goes beyond their normal opening hours but if you want extra time within their hours it is usually just the standard hourly rate.
Most open until at least 6pm and lots 6.30 or 7pm.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

HOW WRONG I WAS - Training doesnt finish until 5:30 (No mention of me being paid for the 1.5 hours OT both days) but my main issue is, I wont be able to pick DD up from nursery in time for it closing and will get "fined" by the nursery for late pick up. Boss knows I dont have anyone to pick up DD so its not as if I can ask someone else to get her. (Dad not around)
I haven't checked back on your previous posts but you do have a distinctive user name. Don't you have a husband, not your dd's dad, by whom you are currently expecting? And a mother and father fairly close by who might have been pressuring you to adopt your brother's child? Seriously, neither of these family members could pick your child up on two days? And even though you have a toddler, you have no friends who have children of similar ages who you would trust to get her just twice. Wow!
It's not the first time you have used pregnancy/family responsibility to do less hours on the clock than your employer would like. Hope the business is doing well, and they can afford to keep staffing at current levels, as I wouldn't like to be starting a redundancy race for jobs from your starting point!0 -

Although most nurseries have a late collection policy, this can include contacting Social Services if the child is not picked up by a certain time and no contact can be made with parent (or contact is made and child still not collected). Late pick up can mean nursery staff working late themselves - and that would be a minimum of two staff, for safeguarding purposes. This is assuming that the nursery closes before the OP could collect her daughter. I know of some nurseries that close before 6pm.
If the nursery is still open until the OP can collect her daughter, then it is worth asking the nursery if they can accommodate the child for an extra couple of hours on the necessary days. However, adult:child ratios in nurseries are strict and this may not be possible if the child places are already filled.
I haven't read other threads by the OP, so I can't comment on her family situation.0 -

He left us at the beginning of this month and isnt exactly on best terms with me atm (Post in the 12-24 month pregnancy bit)
Mum and dad were close when that was happening but that was month's ago - They've moved now - (Again, I would of been able to get them to have her but its too short notice and too far away)
Brother obviously cant have DD due to SS involvement. Other family members live in Scotland
As mentioned, all friends will be at work, except one, who cant drive and it will take 5 buses to get here with 2 kids in tow
Nursery will be shut by time I get to DD so it isnt an "extra" hour - It's classed as closure and will be "fined"
I've been off once since ive been in the company - When DD was ill. The only other time I have had off is when I had to attend hospital for anti natal care - Which was covered by both a doctors note, midwife note and letters from the hospital - This has only been once. The next hospital appointment is in 3 weeks time. Other than that I havent had time off. Company's doing very well thank you but even if they did start redundancies, it wouldnt be within our base where we are at skeleton staff, it would be at our other office which is over staffed
