I like what I have seen of it so far but have not had much time to have a play with it.

Depends what you want to do with your photos. It's really a picture organiser.
If you want to do basic editing/re-sizing etc. try Irfanview which is excellent,

Another free picture organiser/editor you might want to look at is Faststone Image Viewer. It was recommended on another thread here a few months ago and having tried them both, I prefer it to Picasa. Faststone organises pictures based on your folders. HTH

I have lots of picture viewers etc including some expensive software! I find Picasa to be great for the basics and pretty much all most people would need. Have even trained 60yr old computer phobic father in law to use it!

Its great as a photo cataloguer and it simple editing tools. I use for cataloguing and Paint Shop Pro 11 for editing.

Picassa is not a photo editor! To remove marks and creases, you will need a proper photo editing package like PhotoShop, which has the necessary tools to do this. There is a free program very like PhotoShop called the GIMP but it is not easy for a beginner to master!

Or you could try Gimpshop which is based on Photoshop. Not a bad program for those used to Photoshop but looking for a free alternative.

You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.

Personally, I prefer Ulead Photo-impact 10 for Editing.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
