I rejected the painter and decorator stockpot of magnolia for decades but now accept its economical, adaptable, fit many purposes qualities.0

I know what you mean, but after living with a new build standard spec for a number of years I want something a little different. Brightness is also key as I didn't realise my new house was so dark on dreary days.0 -
Aww thanks
I do love my house! I don't think I would do a full renovation again (not with a full time job anyway) took nearly a year and a half! Best bit was definately choosing the paint and adding the finishing touches!
Good luck with your paint hunt!
I know, it's the nice bits, but feel I'm rushing now as spent so long choosing flooring, bathroom, kitchen worktops etc that I've left it last minute. I want the walls to be a blank canvas backdrop to the furniture and furnishings, lots of texture and patterns there, but little on walls, hope I've not got it wrong!!!0 -

I have Slipper Satin in our house. It is nothing like that colour on the screen! I suggest you get hold of a F&B colour card to compare properly, but the advice is good.
Slipper satin is much more like it is in the example here:

It's all over our house, but stunning in the west facing spare room!
Love that colour! I'm looking for a colour of semi skimmed milk and that looks close... I've heard you can't wipe the walls that have F&B paints? Is that true?0 -

Go for it...as a child of a manic magnolia painter and decorator, I had the multi coloured swap shop decor for decades that incurred extra cost and energy!
Each to their own when it is their own, to brighter days!!;);)
Can you let me know what you choose please?0 -
Will do, I am hoping to finalise tomorrow or Sunday and will be back with my decisions....0

Ours get washed a lot (kids and dog), just the Estate Emulsion and it stands up really well to it. It's also easy to apply and doesn't take many coats at all. It went over dark red in our dining room and it nearly managed it in one coat.
It is very milky, good description. Not purple at all!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Excellent, that was the only thing putting me off... and the price.
Yeah same here, have two dogs that like to wipe off walls after bath
Looking forward to moving and painting the walls now!0 -
How did you get on choosing the paint?0

How did you get on choosing the paint?
Well after spending a fortune on samples, I still love white!!! So difficult to move from my original idea. Sooooo I've gone for Jasmine white endurance and in my bedroom chalky downs 4 (which is dark, but warming) with brilliant white satin on woodwork throughout and ceilings in matt white. I've not chosen the bathroom paint. I love the natural calico, but feel my original idea was white and although it is gorgeous, it's deviating from the white plan! I can change the living room if necessary after winter if I feel it's too clinical.
Thanks all for your help and Lisal0u for your added advice.0
