ebay may be the best option for the ice link as it's pretty expensive for what it is. There must be a cheaper alternative to the ice link - leave aside the cradle and its basically an adapter isn't it... will have to do some more research i guess.

I might have to try an fm transmitter first - just not sure how good it will be driving in and around london with the busy fm traffic.

    Cheers

  • It depends on wether you want to control the ipod from the head unit or not - I did, the dension also charges the ipod.

You can probably pick up a cheap goodmans ipod head unit for less than the cost of the dension from ebay, but its all about choices isn't it. I agonised for ages before buying my link. I was all set on a new stereo but decided at the last minute that the dension would be better as the one i bought had a cradle and charged the ipod - great for a long journey.

Ive had no regrets - well for now - lol

I've found another adapter called connects2 and apparently this connects the ipod to the power supply as well. not sure it will be any cheaper than the ice link. I've already got a cradle for my phone so I'm not sure i want another one!

Good to know you're still happy with yours. I think I still have a bit more agonising of my own to do.

    happy new year...
  • Im not sure if the connects2 lets you control the ipod from the head unit.

You can also get the dension with just a lead and not the cradle. However if you buy a cradle version you have to use the cradle as the connector is built in, however it will be more difficult to get via ebay !!

Good Luck and all the best for 2007 !!

As a suggestion, you could subscribe to Stuff magazine for 3 months, this comes with a free FM transmitter and will cost you £10.50 per quarter.

I think you can also cancel and get a refund for unmailed issues when you get your freebie ;)

You can do it online at https://www.themagazineshop.com ref M017P
