Happy New year to all!
I'm currently looking for an adapter to allow me to play my mini ipod in my car. I previously used a tape player adapter but my new car has a cd player instead.
I looked at the FM tuner attachment, allowing me to listen to the ipod through my radio tuner which looks pretty useful, I've also looked at units that I plug straight into my stereo.
Has anyone got any advice? I've looked at the Belkin Tunebase and Griffin RoadTrip but not sure if they're any good?
p.s I've got a 52 plate Renault Clio
Any help appreciated!

Hi there
My OH bought me a Kensington FM Transmitter from Amazon (£34.99) and it it great! I had wanted one for ages and read many reviews on the apple site and this had the best reviews. It is so easy to use and excellent playback from my ipod (I have an Ipod mini also). I would suggest looking at the reviews on the apple website or on amazon-found them most useful.

Thanks beachlou, a good suggestion that I hadn't looked at, seems to be the best option.
Before I buy, I was wondering whether anyone had bought a unit with a direct ipod connection into their car stereo. I like the idea of the FM tuner but the direct audio line looks to be a more expensive solution but takes away a lot of the complaints regarding the tuners.
Any ideas??Money is like manure; it's not worth a thing unless it's spread around encouraging young things to grow.

I bought and installed the dension ice link plus for my car and its brilliant. I found both the fm transmitter and the cassette link rubbish. The ice link plus turns your ipod into a complete cd changer with cd quality sound, it really is the biz.
I wouldnt waste money on the fm transmitters, but then I am pretty particular about how my music sounds. If I hadn't of purchased the ice link I would have bought the alpine 9850 cd head unit that has a direct ipod connection. Although not a budget option it is £199 fitted at halfords - which seems to be one of the best prices fitted.
The dension unit is particular to your car / head unit and you may need to do a little research before buying it. Also, you might want to check out the HArmon Kardon ipod kit as an alternative. Supposed to be good, but I thought it looked too intrusive for my car.

alictait, i've been considering the ice link because I don't really want to replace my factory car stereo if i can help it. where did you buy yours from and was it as easy to install as denison say?

Just got the Belkin tuner and its been great.
Just plug & go. Best reception I get is when I place the ipod under my seat!!0 -
I bought the alpine 9850 as the fm module iTrip was rubbish in ant built up area.
But I spend hours in my car and the £200 was well worth it.
If you car head unit has the direct cable link ( £50 - 60 ) go for that option as this then thinks your ipod is a remote cd changer and you control the pod fromthe stereo. Perfect for when an ABBA or Dido track starts playing. Fast forward to next track fast. When you have 50 gig of music you do get some very odd stuff. ( How did the Divine comedy get on my ipod )0 -

It was a piece of cake to install. I bought mine off of ebay from a place in canada, however I think they only had the audi version. cost me less than £60 delivered, but it is brill.
I tried the belkin tuner and was very disappointed, I think it is pretty hit and miss and depends on how saturated the fm airways are where you live and also on the type of stereo that you have.

Thanks for all the replies everyone,
angieb1606 , checked the curry's site for the £20 belkin tunefm but can't find it?
Any chance of a link, or did you buy it in-store?
