Two Colour Gold Ring Fading

Options
Just wondering if I can get a bit of advice.

My wife and I got married last Saturday and we've got 2 x 9ct Two Colour White Gold rings as our wedding rings that we bought from H Samuals about 7 weeks ago.

Both rings have scratched very easily in a single week and the white gold in my ring has started to fade to yellow gold already. The rings were stored in their boxes until the day of the wedding and have been worn for 6 days so far and weren't exactly cheap (my ring was £300).

We bought insurance for the rings but before we go down the route of insurance, can anyone offer any advice regarding what steps we should take?

I've read something about rhodium plating but can this be done on 2 colour gold rings? Should white gold fade this quickly? Can we get H Samuals to do anything about it?

Thanks

I believe white gold in jewelery is usually an alloy of Gold and Palledium, I have a Palledium wedding ring as I wanted a silver coloured ring, but without the chance of it rubbing off. The wife has a Platinum ring as she has expensive taste :p.
Sometimes other silver metals such as nickel and copper are used, though a nickel allergic reaction can occur so they tend not to use it in jewelery.
Rhodium plating can be used to freshen up white gold that does tarnish and fade over time. 7 weeks is a bit short though, from past experience I have been told that re-doing every 2 years or so is the norm for a heavily worn piece of jewelery.
I would suggest that you take the rings back they should still be in guarentee, and ask them to repair them as i presume you would like to keep the rings you were married with.
If the repair turns out to be unsatisfactory then unfortunately you would only be entitled to a refund IMO
