I'd go for one day travelcards on both days , think it will work out cheaper once you factor in the £3 deposit on each oyster card (unless you plan to be a regular london visitor)

oyster "caps" at travel card rates if you hit that amount on any particular day

    day off peak is £6.60

The Oyster card is great! Put a tenner or so on it and if there is anything left on the card at the end of the day just keep it for your next trip to London. The Oyster saves time and money and is just so convenient. Problem with Zone 1 and 2 day-cards is that you might just stray outside accidentally or on a whim or a sudden change of plan.

The Travelcard (if purchased from a TRAIN Station rather a Tube Station) gives you access to these 2 for 1 Offers on many attractions. That might be worth factoring in.

I going next week and will be giving this a try...
