Bridesmaid dress problems

  • thanks all for the replies. I've been hunting all day and I'm going to take the risk on the DP dresses, I can send them back if no good and start the searching again. For all 5 it's £195 which is well below budget. I'm just praying they fit in the bust, I can alter the hem. Its all about risks if you want to save the money I guess :)

I would definitely go with the DP dresses, while they might not look overly like the "traditional" bridesmaid type of dress, when they are on, with hair and make up done and a lovely bouquet, they will look fantastic! Good find!

Yea slightly, I've found the dress of my dreams (sorry so clich!) but its ruddy expensive so was trying to wind in the budget on the rest of the bridal wear to attempt to afford it. I found a dress in Dorothy Perkins but unsure of its 'bridesmaid status' if anyones got a few spare minutes to have a look would really appreciate feedback. Its called a MINT BANDEAU PLEAT MAXI DRESS (did try to share link but don't think I can, newbie to the site!) Thanks for replies :D

I've seen loads of dress that aren't typical BM dresses I don't think it matters as long as you like it and your girls feel comfortable in it besides which regular dress have the add bonus that you can wear them again

When my SIL got married she got bridesmaid dresses from BHS. My daughter was bridesmaid for 4th time. The others were bridal shop or in one case a bridal designer.

The BHS one was just as good quality and looked lovely. Not pure silk but very pretty.

  • Hello! My bridesmaid dresses are mint - I've posted link to one that is selling on ebay so you can see what it looks like. It's now down in the sale in Monsoon for £48 from £160 (I'm gutted as I paid £80 for mine!) Was in my Monsoon store today (hence me seeing the new price!) and they had a few dresses left. Not sure if it's the sort of thing you're looking for?
