    Alternatively you can:

    Click on Start>>Run
    Type in msconfig
    Then click on startup tab
    And click on the software you do not want to launch at startup, to do this just make the command column wider and you should be able to vaguely make out which program is which.

    Then restart the computer and you should get another dialog box and simply click on the box to stop it appearing every time you start windows.

    This gets rid of the programs at the source i.e. startup and will no doubt free up some ram
