Recieved letter admiting mis-sold ppi

i recieved a letter from Bank of Scotland (not Royal BS) concering the PPI that covered my Aqua card. Admiting in their words, were certain exclusions and limitations they did not bring to my attention when i purchased the policy & as a result of recent FSA rulings they would like to now point out that the cover was optional and i should not have felt pressured to purchase the cover.

The PPi was cancelled about 4/5 months ago and i have not attempted to make a claim as i no longer had any of the paperwork but the letter they sent me has a case number attatched to it.

So i then phoned the free phone number to register a formal complaint concerning the mis-selling of this policy and the polite lady on the phone appologised and said i will recieve written confirmation within 5 working days acknowlegding my complaint.

So what are my chances of being able to reclaim the PPI i paid?

If you believe the PPI was missold, and can recall the sales process in sufficient detail to explain why, then you have a good chance of being successful.

Their letter acknowledges their procedures were imperfect, which will add weight to your complaint.
