Exactly what I said hun - but every baby I have known who was teething didnt 'grizzle' - they howled! but then I suppose some babies just 'grizzled' through it. never met any myself though.

I must introduce you to my DD :) She only ever properly screamed for the final breakthrough of each tooth, and actually not for every tooth. Her final molars are coming through now and there has been very little grizzling and no screaming at all.

My point was they they don;t howl through the entire process, from the tooth buds first moving in the gum to the final breakthrough of the tooth, they tend to howl for part of it, usually the bit where the tooth cuts through, but some children don;t at all. My old neighbour's second son never cried with teeth at all.

However, they can be very unsettled/grizzly/moany/whiny for the entirety of the process, with some days/hours/minutes worse than others, and so to say if they are not howling then it is not teething is misleading.

I just wanted to reassure the OP that they can be teething even if they are not howling.

And while we need to get to know our own babies, there are also certain things that are true for all. As an example, all babies will teethe, most will have some symptoms, not all will howl or scream. It doesn;t make the giving of information, in this example about teething symptoms, useless or superfluous though.
