Adding AA Homestart? Extra surcharge for immediate callout?

We already have AA cover... but our car is having problems outside our house.

To add homestart is £51 plus £30 surcharge for calling out a breakdown straight away.

Anyone know how long we have to wait before we don't get charged the surcharge???

Is it possible to move the car the required distance from the house?

I'd push / tow it a half mile down the road to a "friends" house then have starting issues....

I think is the same as when you take out initial cover :::: 48 hours

We thought about the pushing it thing, but though we'd find out the cost & timescale too.

Managed to get the car going in the end... so I feel like I've saved £80 today, even though technically I didn't need to spend it! lol!!
