Blimey, why resurrect this post after 6 months?

We had a hiccup with Parentpay about 2 months ago (any food bought by the children wasn't being updated on the screen) but it was resolved quick enough. Otherwise, I think Parentpay is a great idea. It solves the problem of children carrying cash around in school anyway.

I don't understand why you can't just keep the amount of money in your account? surely you had budgeted for that? Or is it that your budget is too tight to keep £100 as a buffer in your account? If it was me, I would keep the money in my account and sit back and wait and see whether the school cash it or not. I have the feeling I've missed a point here though ;)

It's easy to say that, but it only takes the slightest miscalculation to cause huge problems. Or someone else to make a mistake and take a double payment or increase a DD without the letter getting to the OP.

There's also the problem that not everybody is comfortable with running into negative figures, available and actual balances that vary between which cash machine you go to and variable times for transfers.

It's far easier to know you've paid x and that will definitely be leaving your account by Friday, so you don't have to carry that one in your head on top of all the others.

I pay cash whenever possible now. I'd rather use my energy working out my degree stuff, not waste it on worrying whether I've allowed for a payment made half a year ago.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
