have lost receipt for new roof

i had a roof replaced in 2008.
i don't have the receiopt any longer. i seem to have thrown the schedule of works and guarantee out.
i do have a cheque stub but it would not prove what i had paid for.
do i still have a guarantee?

Have you a problem and have you contacted the roofer/builder?0 -
no. am mainly mad at self for throwing it out. it's just in case. i have a leak in my other house so i guess it's on my mind.

Phone the contractor up and see if they will issue a copy, if they are reputable most would be happy to do this.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

the house with lost receipt is my late mother's . was clearing papers out. kept loads of rubbish but managed to chuck the papaer i was concentrating so hard on keeping. if thaT MAKES SENSE?
have no idea if company still around, blv so. local firm and did a great job. i just like to know as has been a hard year and have had bad luck with anothwer builder and am in court. just need to have facts and affairs in order.
knowledge is power and all that. mind you so:eek: is keeping relevant paperwork safe0
