burbs, check the school report for Highfield and compare it to others. Say, those in Keyham, which do better. Best to leave it as a place to consider only if the budget isn't sufficient for a better one.

Might work nicely as a BTL area, given the demographics.

As I said Efford is being regenerated, if you can get in now it is cheaper and the value will rise as the area gains a better reputation through the work done there. Keyham is not a much stronger area than Keyham - especially with the parking issues in many streets around the area.

Some have said to avoid St Budeaux. I think Higher St Budueax is a very nice area, big houses, clean and quite affordable. Once you get down to the Lower St Budeaux and the shop area you have entered a different world and tyou should avoid this part. If you go over the railway bridge and enter Barne Barton that is a definate no no - avoid like plauge

Do you live in St Budeaux?

I used to work there and, no disrespect to anyone living there, it wasn't a nice place to be.

Obviously everyones idea of 'nice' is different, which is why forums like this are good as if you get 5 people saying its not nice and 1 saying it's nice, you can work out that it's probably not!

Another idea for the OP would be Ivybridge. 10 miles outside of Plymouth it's like the overflow of Plymouth. Smallish town with good services into plymouth or if you got a car, 15 mins and your in Plymouth. But, far enough away at the same time if you don't like living in cities.
  • Hi Galadrial,

Just to support what davef has already said. Wembury is a lovely place to live. I go there on holiday every year and I would love to move there. There is lots of countryside and some nice beaches. I think it's a nice place to bring up kids too. Plymstock isn't far and has a good selection of shops. It's a good location if you work in central Plymouth.

    Good luck

    Cokey x

I have owned a property in Victoria Road, which is in Higher St Budeaux but never lived there and no longer own it.

As i said the bottom of Budeaux, where the shops are and where you probably worked is a bad area and not nice, however there are parts that are OK.

As you said, Ivybridge is an idea. It is straight down the A38 so no real hard travelling to get into the centre of Plymouth.
