Problems with Nationwide Bill Payment System

I had a regular bill payment made from my flexaccount yesterday, but immediately returned (despite there being plenty of funds in the account and using details I've used regularly over several months) - I called Nationwide today questioning this and was advised they had a problem with bill payments made yesterday all of which were returned.
I was advised that they would automatically make the transaction again within 7 days and that if I encountered any charges as a consequence they would cover them.
Thought it may impact others who had (or should've had) bill payments made yesterday but who haven't checked their account on-line (btw I tried again a few minutes ago and again it failed)
