Mira Shower connector leaking - Plumbers please help!

I have an old Mira 415 mixer shower. The connector that attaches the hose to the wall, the round dial is separate is somehow cracked so is dripping. I need to replace it and the hose, holder, shower head etc. ie everything except for the shower unit itself.

I have found this. Is this the cheapest I could get or can I buy a generic one or one that includes the rest of the bits? Would it just screw on or do i need any fancy plumber type stuff?

Edited to add, my existing connector is round, this one is not, is that a problem?

Egited again, do I need to buy Mira hose etc?
Thanks in advance :D

  • We had a new hose fitted to our Mira shower once and it needed an adaptor.

You are better off removing the hose and taking it to your local plumbers merchants and then they can give you an exact replacement.

If you buy one from the net it may be the incorrect fitting, which will cause you more hassle!
  • Thanks. On that pic it is leaking from 030.67. Will I need to order anything else to screw the part on ie to waterproof the seal?

First I'm with plumb1 don't buy a generic hose get the Mira. I think they are larger bore and better made than some of the replacements.
Second. Part 030.67. I can't remember but I think that's metal. If it is, it is unlikely to leak itself but you may well find that the joint leaks, then runs out under the cover (079.02 or 421.41). Again, IIRC, there is a rubber sealing ring on 915.03 which 030.67 fits over and seals against. The most likely place therefore for a leak is the hose connection to 030.67. Can you see exactly where the leak is from if you remove the cover?

sorry to disagree with bob and plumb 1 but we find mira replacement parts on the whole expensive and overpriced and the flexes for example are not the best quality at all. however i do agree that as the outlet elbow that is broken, it may well be better to fit the exact mira replacement. while i agree there are many cheap hansets out there, we had a client come back to buy a replacement grohe original handset, as he had bought a cheapie at a diy shed and was amazed at the reduction in performance after the original supplied 10 yrs ago. It is a bit of a needle in a haystack but there are some good wide bore good quality, seen some new italian hoses that come with 10yr warranty!, that are much better priced than mira. plus the styling is often iffy and their quality has declined in recent years imho

Agree with Bob, the Mira ones are larger bore, if you buy a cheap one. it will affect the profomance of the shower, the same goes for shower heads of all makes of showers. They a designed to give the max proformance with each type of shower.

And agree with ozskin, Mira are overpriced, and the quality has dropped slightly since they were taken over by the germans, they now tend to use more cheaper plastic parts.

The DIY sheds are there to sell you stuff, not for the advise, which we all try give

I would also order part 915.03 as the O ring could have failed too. Spread a little silicone grease on them before fitting.

I am not a plumber but if you were able to hang on then set up some saved searches on Ebay including the part numbers and on a seperate one include the whole model number. Then watch the item when it comes up and bid to your maximum.

It worked for me.My Mira 915b required a full washer kit on the flow.Got it for about £5 and greased and fitted it in 15mins.No leak on the head now.
Also inspected the flow cartridge and picked up one for £31 inc delivery. These are usually £100+
Now should the flow cartridge go I have a spare or I hopefully should get my money back.

    Current listings

Also included another parts chart.I guess you are familiar with the huge prices

I am too impatient for that! The parts that Bobproperty has suggested come to around £10 max plus grease so at least the drip will stop. Thanks though!
